UFC Fight Night 7/15 Betting Guide

After a successful pay-per-view event that generated over 1.3 million PPV buys, the UFC is running yet another card from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi. The UFC wasn’t the only group that turned a profit, as our Buy The Book Picks went 4-1, +3.25 units throughout the event for a solid first of four previews we’ll be running throughout the Fight Island series of events.

Tonight is yet another solid card, with an incredibly intriguing Featherweight main event between #6 Calvin Kattar and #10 Dan Ige. The Featherweight division rules this main card, as #8 Jimmie Rivera will take on #9 Cody Stamman. Top to bottom, the card has lots of solid matchups with lots of money to be made.

Calvin Kattar vs Dan Ige

Both of these guys are coming in with a lot of momentum, as Ige is riding a six-fight win streak and Kattar is coming off a massive TKO win against Jeremy Stephens two months ago. Kattar is lethal when he can stand up and throw, so Ige will look to get this to the ground, and 4 of his 6 straight wins were by decision, so he’ll probably try to drag this fight out into the later rounds. I think Kattar will win this main event, but it will go on into the later rounds.

The pick: Over 2.5 Rounds (-200), 2/1u

Jared Gordon vs Chris Fishgold

Chris Fishgold is 1-2 in his first three UFC fights, with none of them reaching the third round. Gordon also comes in 1-2 in his last three, but doesn’t have quite the finishing capabilities that Fishgold does, with 8 to Fishgold’s 15. Fishgold is the underdog here but can end the fight in multiple ways at any time, the pace is gonna be quick in this one, and I don’t see it going the distance.

The Pick: Under 2.5 (-140), 1.4/1u

Andreas Michaildis vs Modestas Bukauskas

Both of these guys are making their UFC debuts on a hot streak with Michaildis on a three-fight win streak, all by TKO, and Bukauskas on a six-fight win streak, of which all were finishes. Both of these guys are intriguing prospects, and its pretty obvious somebody is gonna be put to sleep in this one. Overall, I think Bukauskas is gonna win this one, and the KO streaks helps give us some value here.

The pick: Modestas Bukauskas by KO/TKO (+130) 1/1.3u

Jack Shore vs Aaron Phillips

Jack Shore comes into his second fight in the UFC 12-0, and a massive -750 favorite. He’s very clearly better on the feet and the ground than Phillips, and should secure another win in the opening fight tonight. Although Shore is coming in on 4 straight finishes, three of them came in the 3rd round. I think this one won’t be very close, but it’ll go longer than expected.

The Pick: Over 1.5 Rounds (-115), 1.15/1u

UFC YTD: 4-1, +3.25u

Buy The Book YTD: 11-4, +6.35u, 73.33%
