Season Preview
Gonzaga has slowly but surely become a pipeline of talent into the NBA, and they once again face the consequences of being a program that churns out talent. Mark Few and co lose three of their top four scorers from last year. That means its time for Corey Kispert to step into the number one role. He returns with fellow returning start Joel Ayayi, who has a new back court mate this year as the program’s highest rated recruit ever Jalen Suggs will slide into a starting spot.
The Zags have built arguably the best non conference schedule in the nation, and will be immediately tested in their first four games, but should have the experience to wade those tough waters. Mark Few is undoubtedly one of the best coaches in the nation, and the starting lineup will feature 3 players who played 20+ MPG last year, and Suggs. The bench depth may be an issue compared to what we’re used to from the Zags, but the talent they have at the top should be more than enough to carry them through the WCC, the only question is can this group return to the Final Four?
