Friday night the Dallas Mavericks took on the Los Angeles Lakers in an exhibition matchup in the bubble. It was the first live action for both teams and it left viewers with one very interesting storyline.
For anyone who watched the game, at times it looked like Steph Curry was out there playing for the Mavericks. There was a “Curry” on the court and he does wear number 30 but, it was his lessen known brother Seth.
He didn’t miss a single field goal. He showed off his limitless range, crafty handles, soft touch high off glass. For someone who hasn’t watched him play much, like me, he played just like his brother. I mean watch those highlights, almost every bucket in that video is a Steph kind of basketball/move.
Obviously, Seth has had moments of greatness in his relatively young career. Earlier this year, prior to the NBA shutdown, he put up a career high 37 points against the Heat. While he has averaged just 12.6 PPG so far this season, I expect his numbers to rise in the bubble as the Mavericks make a playoff run.
This Mavericks team should NOT be taken lightly whatsoever in the Western Conference playoffs. When you have superstars like Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis on the floor with you it can be hard to get touches and glory. However, shooters can always find a spot in a lineup. This is why I think that when defenses are keying heavy on Doncic and Porzingis, Curry will be extremely effective and I believe will have multiple games with 20+ points for the Mavs.
